The aim of the works is to create a public space around the monument in memory of the victims of the Madrid bombings in March 2004, which is located in Calle Téllez in Madrid’s Retiro district.

The work has served to create new pedestrian spaces and streamline existing ones by creating recreational areas with grassy flowerbeds and seating areas.
This project is part of the Framework Agreement for refurbishment, repair and conservation works for all buildings and green spaces, as well as the execution of works on public roads and spaces under the authority of the Retiro District, Section 4: Public Spaces.
The following tasks were carried out, among others:
· Demolition of existing pavements and removal of kerbs, vegetation, street furniture, etc.
· Paving with granite terrazzo slabs.

· Paving with granite terrazzo slabs.
· Laying of granite and prefabricated type VI kerbs to separate tiles from green areas.
· Laying of a laurel grey granite edge with a central opening for the subsequent placement of a commemorative plaque.
· Installation of granite side benches next to grassy flowerbeds.
· Creation of a central granite tree pit.
· Installation of new street furniture.
· Construction of an underground conduit to supply electricity to the memorial for the victims.
· Remodelling of the existing sewage network.
· Planting of rose shrub bushes in rectangular flowerbeds, as well as sod grass lawns.
