Remodelling work on the playgrounds in three parks in Sant Andreu de la Barca, Barcelona
Complete renovation of the children’s play areas in the Rosalía de Castro, Ramón José Pla and Perú Street parks.
The furniture and facilities in the parks included in this project require a comprehensive intervention to renovate the safety areas and provide new equipment. The works undertaken in each of them are specified below:
- Rosalía de Castro: A new slide was installed on the premise of maintaining the orientation on the mountain side. Access can be via the mountain itself or by means of the ropes and climbing elements that are installed on wooden slats on the side of the slope, creating in themselves another climbing play element.
- Peru Street: The area is enclosed by an aluminium bar fence. The three existing plant elements, two trees and a palm tree, were used and
a 1 m high perimeter shrub planter was planted as a natural fence. Inclusive games and continuous paving were installed.
- Ramon Josep Pla: The perimeter fences that marked out the area were removed to facilitate free passage through the games and rubber paving. This new pavement was incorporated into the circuit through the creation of fun routes and drawings. The existing piers have been replaced by two wooden snail-shaped piers, a blackboard table has been added to allow drawing as this is currently done on the ground, and a castle with a mini-slide has been added for the little ones.
