Ascensión del Señor parish complex
Execution of Phase II of the Ascensión del Señor parish complex, Seville. Phase I saw the building of the parish halls and the parish priest’s housing, together with service areas. Phase II involved the construction of the church to complete the existing building works, and the closing off of the fourth façade of the large atrium.
In 2014, the complex was honoured with first prize in the Religion - Completed Buildings category of the 3rd World Architecture Festival (WAF) held in Singapore, with the participation of 288 projects from more than 50 countries.
Technical data
Foundations
By means of capped pilings cross-tied with caps and strap beams and embedded in the gravel level to a depth of 10 m. 350 m of onsite 35 cm-diameter piling. 160 m of onsite 45 cm-diameter piling.
Roof
Slab, including ISOVER IBR heat and ISOVER 150/175 sound insulation. 1,316 m² of pre-lacquered steel standing seam panels.
Structure
Metal, except for certain areas, where a mixed structure was installed, comprising composite slabs of reinforced concrete and supporting S275 steel sections. 1,179 m² of polyester block waffle slab. 86,096 kg of laminated steel sections in beams and supports.
Cladding
1,008 m² of cream marble tiling.
Façade
In exterior slabs, similar to the roof. Exterior reversible-glass doors and windows.
Interior carpentry
In solid wood and marble tiling.
