Replacing plumbing at Rector Peset Hall of Residence in Valencia
Replacing plumbing at Rector Peset Hall of Residence in Valencia
Renovation of the domestic hot water (DHW) and cold water for human consumption (CWHC) systems in Building B in Rector Peset Hall of Residence at the University of Valencia.
The Rector Peset Hall of Residence is a University of Valencia facility providing accommodation for students, lecturers and researchers.
The manor house which hosts it dates back to the 18th century and has been refurbished several times. However, its plumbing system was in poor condition due to its age.
The project involved the complete replacement of the indoor plumbing installation for the supply of both domestic hot water (DHW) and cold water for human consumption (CWHC).
The works consisted of demolishing ceilings and walls to expose the old system and remove it, fitting the new pipes and replacing all affected walls and enclosures.
The building is in the Mercado neighbourhood in the old part of the city, an area of great historical value and heritage interest. Indeed, the Hall’s structure is joined to several small mansions with different slab levels which posed a major challenge for the project team.
This special feature and the fact that the building is practically empty in summer meant that work had to be done during the summer period.
