Construction of a residential building with 20 flats in Lleida

Ágora is a new building in Lleida consisting of three floors, a semi-basement and a rooftop terrace as a communal area. The property stands on a plot between Enric Prat de la Riba and Felipe de Silva streets.  

The semi-basement floor is used for parking and there are 20 flats with two, three or four bedrooms on the other floors. Due to the size of the site, there is an expansion joint to avoid excessive thermal stress. 

Given the type of construction and bearing in mind construction, regulatory and financial considerations, a two-way concrete pillar and flat slab structure (waffle slab) has been used. 

The interior foundations are made of 65 diameter piles, embedded at least 20 cm into the firm ground, and the perimeter retaining wall is 30 cm thick. The roofs are flat and walkable. 

The flats are equipped with the latest technologies for utmost comfort. Features include energy-efficient heating and air conditioning using a heat pump system, motorised blinds and tilt-and-turn windows. 

The kitchens come with electrical appliances including a fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
