Disability training to foster diverse and inclusive teams
In April and May, Ambitec, Sorigué’s green infrastructure business line, held two training sessions to make it easier for people with disabilities to join its teams.
The training, which was given by the Viver de Bell-lloc Foundation in one of Sorigué’s offices, addressed raising awareness about the various kinds of disability and furnished tools and resources for managing diverse and inclusive teams.
The Green Infrastructure line is one of the group’s businesses with the highest number of people with disabilities in its teams. Indeed, 5.84% of people in Ambitec have some kind of disability.
This initiative is designed to raise awareness among all the company's staff about respecting and supporting people with disabilities in order to ensure their full inclusion in the workplace.
Enric Fransoy Rey, a participant in the course, underscores the significance of this training: “It’s essential to get this training at all levels. First of all, it helps us to grow professionally and personally as we enhance our ability to empathise, to understand our surroundings. Then we also contribute to shaping a company culture which adds value to our everyday operations and we realise that the purpose of our work is about more than just meeting our goals.”
Certification in inclusion and social sustainability
Sorigué’s responsible business model includes recruitment and career development for people with disabilities. The group is targeting a 3% share, one point above the statutory requirement.
Since 2022, Sorigué has had the Bequal Plus Seal, awarded by the Bequal Foundation. This certification confirms the company’s statutory compliance with respect to the employment of people with disabilities and positively rates its initiative to drive actions which foster an inclusive culture.
