Foment del Treball presents Sorigué with award for its good practices in the prevention of occupational risks
In the 9th edition of the Atlante Awards, Foment has presented Sorigué with an award in the applied preventative measures category for its Rugofir system, an innovative hot surface treatment for the application of bituminous mixes which provides added preventative advantages in comparison to other conventional methods.
Foment del Treball, the main employers’ organization in Catalonia, has awarded six companies for being examples of success in the effective implementation of occupational risk prevention at the 9th edition of the Atlante Awards. Among the award-winners, Foment has given an award to Sorigué in the applied preventative measures category.
The organization has specifically awarded Sorigué for the development of its Rugofir system, an innovative treatment system of hot ultra-fine mixes, that restores the characteristics of the road surface with minimal thickness and provides added preventative advantages in comparison to other conventional methods.
This system stands out for its sustainability, as it reduces exposure to chemical substances, thermal contact, thermal stress and transport times for raw materials. Furthermore, it improves the safety of personnel by reducing the length of the surfacing operation and the number of people on each paving team.
In this edition, Foment del Treball also awarded the Nuñez i Navarro, Henkel Ibérica, Comsa and ATLL Concessionària de la Generalitat de Catalunya companies.
The Atlante Awards judges also recognized the professional journey of Jordi Martínez Navarro and gave the Judges’ Special Award to the Seat company for the creation of the Center for Medical Attention and Rehabilitation (CARS for its Spanish acronym).
The Atlante awards are given through the Foment del Treball’s Office for the Prevention of Occupational Risks (OPRL for its Spanish acronym), with funding from the State Foundation for the Prevention of Occupational Risks. The awards are distributed among three different categories: integration elements for the prevention of occupational risks; applied preventative measures; and awareness, information and/or training initiatives.
