Decanting bridges for the Burgos WWTP
Coutex, Equipos y Proyectos, S.A. was the winning bidder in a Europe-wide selection process for the design, supply and installation of four new secondary bridges and four new primary bridges at the Burgos WWTP.
The four new secondary suction bridges and four new primary radial arm bridges were manufactured in AISI 316L stainless steel.
The structural calculations were performed for all the equipment components. The eight bridges were audited and inspected by Lloyd’s Register at the company’s facilities.
Once complete, extension of the Burgos WWTP will enable it to reach a treatment capacity of 156,000 m3 a day.
The Burgos WWTP extension represents an investment of EUR 65.1 million, co-funded by the European Cohesion Fund, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and Burgos City Council.
