Hydraulic gates in the storm tank La Estrella
Hydraulic gates in the storm tank La Estrella
Supply and installation of hydraulic gates in the storm tank La Estrella, in Badalona (Barcelona).
Design, manufacture, assembly and start-up of 12 high-speed cleaning flaps, 2 horizontally-moving sluice gates, 4 standing hatchway gates.
Contractor: Aqualogy Medio Ambiente S.A.
With a maximum capacity of 30.000 m³ , it is the first rainwater regulation reservoir in Badalona.
Project financed jointly with an 80% of European Union's cohesion funds. It uses a surface of 3.160 m² with a medium height of 12,5 m and 12 cleaning streets.
It receives water from two intake manifolds; a manifold on the street Torrent de Batllòria and one on the rambla Sant Joan.
Its main function is to retain waste water and rainwater during days of high precipitation, avoid the manifolds crash (mainly on the secondary network) and avoid the direct spill on the litoral of non-treated water.

Horizontally-moving sluice gate
2 gates of 2.500 mm. width and 2.500 mm. height. Activated by means of a hydraulic cylinder with displacement transducer.
Materials
Manufactured with stainless steel AISI 316L, and watertightness by means of EPDM rubber.
