Sorigué starts up public road maintenance in four Barcelona districts
Barcelona City Council has awarded the group the maintenance contract for l’Eixample, Sants-Montjuïc, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Nou Barris.
These maintenance services come under the group’s Urban areas business line in its City division for a total amount of €3.6 million per year.
The contract, which runs for a period of 2+2 years, includes corrective maintenance of construction and other components of public roads coupled with cleaning and clearing plots of land, upkeep of squares inside blocks and logistics support for activities held in each district.
The actions are carried out without disrupting the city’s operations or local residents’ activities. The service is tailored to the timetable requirements of the public spaces to ensure they are available 24/7. It also includes logistics support for events and festivals in Barcelona.
Service digitalisation
Sorigué provides municipal technical services with an app developed jointly by its production units and information system department to deliver end-to-end management of the service.
This software, which the group uses in its urban services, enables incidents to be detected in advance and analysed to enhance the service by factoring in parameters and indicators drawn up for this purpose in partnership with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).
