The Sorigué Foundation receives youth participating in Project Coach
Representatives of the Sorigué business group received a group of young people who participated in this corporate volunteerism initiative in 2016.
On Thursday, ten students, ranging in age from 16 to 19 years, visited the Sorigué Foundation museum and daycare center for people with disabilities, as well as the La Plana del Corb industrial complex in Balaguer, accompanied by a group of professionals from the business group.
The young people are participating in the first annual Project Coach in Sorigué: a corporate volunteerism initiative promoted by the Exit Foundation with the aim of improving the employment prospects of at-risk and marginalized youth.
As part of this year’s program, from November to December of 2016, nine Sorigué professionals from different areas of the business group and different company locations, spent two months working with students from special education centers, where they are involved in a bridge curriculum to prepare them to access Professional Education.
Project Coach is aimed at socially responsible companies that wish to involve their employees in specific supportive action, for a limited time and with an assurance of good results. In previous years, more than 200 companies and 3,500 youth have participated.
