The new president of Barcelona Building Construmat has expressed her “satisfaction for this appointment and for the opportunity to lead our country’s most important construction trade fair, one that highlights the importance of a sector that is fundamental for our economic growth.” Vallés added that “I hope to contribute with my vision as the head of a company that, in recent years, has been committed to innovation and diversification.” 

Ana Vallés takes the place of Josep Miarnau, the managing director of Comsa, who has presided over the last four annual events. Sorigué’s CEO has industry knowledge that will allow her to contribute to the organization of this benchmark event in the construction industry, led by the young architect from Navarra, Ione Reute, the new event director.

Since she assumed the role of CEO at Sorigué in 2011, Ana Vallés has been the driving force behind a Strategic Plan based on three dimensions of growth: innovation, knowledge, and positioning. This Plan has made possible the current diversification and specialization of the group in the urban and industrial services sector, waste and water management, and the real estate sector; the creation of a department dedicated to innovation that focuses, among other things, on research into new materials; and the improvement of human resource management through cross-sectional management and communication that values group knowledge.

The twentieth annual Barcelona Building Construmat seeks to become an event that will drive change in the industry and generate new opportunities based on the future and on innovation as key elements. To this end, the fair has been organized into four areas: Industry Arena, an expansive commercial exhibition space displaying products and services from all links in the industry value chain; Future Arena, more than 2,000 square meters featuring the most innovative advances in the industry, in a lively and experiental format; Talks Arena, the place where knowledge is exchanged in order to promote reflection on the industry; and Meeting Arena, the platform for business contacts and business development.

BBConstrumat will be held from the 23rd to the 26th of May, 2017, in pavilion 2 of the Gran Via hall at Fira de Barcelona.
