Anella Mediterrània dels Jocs del Mediterrani 2017
Executive planning for urbanization of the athletics ring for the 2017 Tarragona Mediterranean Games and subsequent execution of works.
Planning and works for urbanization of the Anella Mediterrània dels Jocs del Mediterrani 2017.
For Tarragona and its area of influence, the Parc de l’Anella Mediterrània dels Jocs del Mediterrani 2017 represents the creation of a large peri-urban green space with athletic facilities, which —given its size and convenient location— is certain to become an important area for family recreation, athletics, and other leisure activities.
Because of its location, it will take on a significant role in the city’s urban structure, extending the cityscape to the northeast and transforming a space that is currently in a degraded and inhospitable state.
It is planned as a large Mediterranean Park with more than 330,000 m2, connecting the Les Gabarres shopping area and the future PPU10–IKEA Smart District with the urbanized Camp Clar and western neighborhoods. It will also offer athletic facilities and activities to be enjoyed well beyond the municipal boundaries of Tarragona.
The basic components of the project include water, vegetation, topography, and zoning.
