Lleida Municipal Government acknowledges Sorigué for its good labor insertion practices
Lleida, February 20, 2019. – The Sorigué Group has received the 2019 Empresa Solidaria Award this afternoon, which is given by Lleida Municipal Government each year to the organizations that have contributed to the social improvement of the city, in this case in the business sector. The award has been presented by Paeria to commemorate World Day of Social Justice.
Sorigué has been nominated for this award by the Incorpora program organized by the "La Caixa" Social Work Foundation, an organization with which the Group collaborates. The Incorpora program helps people at risk of social exclusion to obtain work based on their skills and motivations, either at a company or by starting their own business.
In addition, this year the company has received recognition as a Socially Responsible Company at the request of the Banco de Recursos Foundation on account of the technical support and advice, and donations to the TATEMOë Agricultural School project in Chad, undertaken through Group company Acsa, Obras e Infraestructuras.
Best practices
As part of its commitment to promoting personal development and giving back, the Sorigué Group draws up a series of best occupational practices that seek to enhance the employability of people at risk of exclusion.
The company has regularly been collaborating with the Incorpora program for years, and this alliance was formalized in February 2018 through the signing of an agreement that seeks to incorporate people at risk of exclusion at all its places of business. Over the past year, Sorigué has signed employment contracts through Incorpora in Madrid, Barcelona and Lleida.
Furthermore, over the past year, the Exit Foundation's EDuo program has helped 26 young people to obtain an Occupational Training Certificate in Waste Management and most have obtained employment, for the first time, with CLD, a Sorigué Group company.
In total, more than 70 people with different profiles have obtained employment at Group companies in 2018. Many of these employees have worked at Sorigué previously. Victims of gender-based violence, people with some degree of disability and young people who have not completed their studies are among those who have benefited. These individuals have mainly joined projects in the Services area, in particular in waste management and urban maintenance contracts.
Collaboration with both programs will continue into 2019.
