Barcelona, April 2, 2019. – The Chairwoman of the Sorigué Group, Ana Vallés, and the Group's Innovation Director, Joan Pons, have concluded two framework collaboration agreements with the University of Barcelona (UB) and the University of Lleida (UdL) in order to promote innovation through the exchange of knowledge between the company and the universities.
As a result, these entities have created a stable environment of cooperation to promote innovation projects in the sectors of materials, construction and engineering, water technology and urban services, in which Sorigué is a specialist.
This agreement seeks to promote high-level research, thus helping to achieve the universities’ goals of championing progress in science, the outreach of culture and the development of society.
"The commitment to talent and knowledge are two of the main pillars of our 2020 Strategic Plan; in achieving this, we consider creating stable links with universities that allow us to generate and share value with our direct surroundings as essential", said the Chairwoman of Sorigué.
On Monday, April 1, the collaboration agreement was signed with the Chancellor of the University of Lleida, Roberto Fernández Díaz. The agreement, with a renewable duration of four years, embodies and standardizes the collaboration that the University of Lleida and the business Group have maintained for years, especially in terms of supervised internships at the company and dual training. The agreement is a reflection of "the good relationship between the country's major companies and universities”, in the words of the Chancellor.
The agreement with the University of Barcelona was signed on Tuesday, April 2 by the Chancellor and Chairman of the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, Joan Elias, at the Assembly Hall at the University of Barcelona. Research and transfer activities with this university will be mainly conducted through the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation and the Technology Transfer Office.
In both cases, a joint committee is due to be created, which will meet regularly to follow up on the agreement.
