The municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar in Mallorca requires a tank at the head of the plant in order to abate peak flows and maximise the volume of water treated at the plant, while reducing the volume of untreated water discharged into the receiving environment.
This project involves the construction of a semi-buried reinforced concrete tank for the abatement of pre-treated water flows, together with equipment, electrical and control installations, and associated piping. The tank has interior dimensions of 8×42 m and a minimum headroom of 6 m.

· Inlet pipe: the current configuration is modified, replacing the pipe in the section parallel to the pre-treatment plant with another of the same characteristics.
· Abatement tank: this is a semi-buried reinforced concrete structure with a rectangular shape and a single tank.
· Relief pipeline: made of polyethylene ND 500 mm up to the general relief pipeline.
· Drainage pumping: two 13.5 kW submerged drainage pumps are planned, one in operation and the other on active standby. A third smaller pump with a 2.4 kW motor will drain the pump pit itself.
