Building the Cabra del Camp WWTP
Building the Cabra del Camp WWTP
Construction design of wastewater treatment plant and upstream collectors in the sewerage system for the Mas del Plata housing development in Cabra del Camp, Tarragona.
The project includes a new WWPS, i.e. a discharge pipeline to take the water to the new WWTP. The new outfall of the WWTP will carry the water until it spills into the Fonollosa Ditch.
Components of the WWTP built:
• Preparing the plot, approaches and earthworks for the components with approximate total excavation coming to 6,000 m3. The excavation of the discharge and outfall trenches was performed with a trencher.
• Construction of the WWTP components (civil engineering, mechanical, electrical and control equipment). The WWTP is designed with two treatment lines made up of concentric settling reactors and there is the potential to extend the treatment plant with a third line in the future.
• Internal hydraulic connections of the water,
• Urban development.
• Outfall, including directional boring under the C-37, and delivery site at Rasa de la Fonollosa, 1,579 m long and ND250 HDPE.
• Service connections: electricity (MV and construction of new 100 kVA CRT) and drinking water.
For the new WWPS:
• Conditioning of the site area: temporary diversion of the water supply to the Imhoff to avoid disruption during the work, and demolition of the existing Imhoff tank.
• Building the new pumping system (civil engineering work, mechanical, electrical and control equipment and development).
• LV electrical connection (16 kW) and drinking water connection.
• 656 m of HDPE ND180 discharge pipe to the new WWTP.
