Vialex awarded the “Aragon circular” seal for its waste reduction strategy
The Sorigué group company passed the Aragon government’s certification process in its first call.
One hundred companies from a variety of industries submitted under this first call, of which 72 were eligible for being awarded the seal from the Aragon government’s Department of Planning and Economic Development.
Complete Waste Management
Vialex stands out specifically for its management and recovery of construction and demolition waste, such as recycled aggregates which are fed back into the production chain. This lowers the amount of waste ending up in landfills, actively helping towards a lower environmental footprint. Also noteworthy is the fact that in 2021 the company began compiling the statistics needed to officially record its 2017, 2018 and 2019 carbon footprint.
Vialex’s overall sustainability strategy also includes replacing fluorescent bulbs with LEDs at its Zaragoza offices, and enhancing piping at its asphalt plants in Garrapinillos and Villanueva de Gállego and its concrete plant in Zuera to stop heat loss and boost energy efficiency.
