Sorigué takes part in the latest Smart City Expo World Congress
The business group showcases its city utility know-how and expertise to build new industry synergies at the congress held from 15 to 17 November in Barcelona.
The aim behind Sorigué’s taking part in this congress is to offer its city utility know-how and expertise to build relationships with a variety of industry players and move towards more innovative and sustainable cities.
Smart City Expo World Congress offers the group the chance to showcase its responsible business model, which approaches growth by creating knowledge, innovating, digitalising, and pledging to be environmentally and socially committed.
Over the course of the three-day congress, the business group will run a series of talks at its stand focusing on five central themes: 2030 Agenda: a Shared Challenge for Government and Business; Resilient City Solutions; Smart City Technology; Future City Infrastructure; and Renewable Energies.
Some of the questions to be tackled by these lectures include the intersection between new architecture and ecology, featuring Daniel Ibáñez, architect and Director of the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC); sustainability and venture capital, featuring Fernando Casado, ClimateTech investor; Madrid’s city agenda, featuring the architects Asunción Rodríguez and Jose Antonio Granero; and good public procurement practices, featuring Francisco Diéguez, Director-General of the Construction Technology Institute (ITeC).

About Smart City Expo World Congress
Held in Barcelona since 2011, Smart City Expo World Congress is the main international smart city event. By promoting social innovation and identifying possible partnerships, the event aims to drive cities and city innovation across the world.
This year’s event will focus on eight themes covering the main problems faced by cities: enabling technologies, energy and environment, mobility, governance, living and inclusion, economy, infrastructure and buildings and safety and protection.
Over 24,000 professionals from over 700 cities and over 400 international speakers are expected to share their vision on how to build the most sustainable and liveable urban future.
Some of the companies in attendance include FCC Medio Ambiente, Microsoft, Abertis, Accenture, Amazon Web Services, Renfe, SEAT, Siemens and TMB. In addition, other attendees include governments such as Madrid City Council, Barcelona Metropolitan Area, the Government of Catalonia and other international governments.
