The Sorigué group won the Tarragona Chamber of Commerce’s Responsible Company Award at the first Corporate Excellence Awards, aimed at showcasing the competitiveness, internationalisation, sustainability, digitalisation and entrepreneurship of companies across the province. 

This award is a recognition of the business group’s commitment to a responsible business model that approaches growth by creating knowledge, innovating, digitalising, and pledging to be environmentally and socially committed. 

Anna Vallés, Sorigué’s CEO, accepted the award alongside Miriam Porres, Sorigué’s CSR Director, and Xavier Vaqué, Sorigué’s Tarragona Representative, at the award ceremony held on 27 October at the Tarragona Chamber of Commerce. Jaume Guardiola, Cercle d’Economia’s President, was there to present the awards. 

Also in attendance were Laura Roigé, Tarragona Chamber of Commerce’s President; Carlos Arola, Chamber of Commerce’s Vice-President; and Núria Pérez, Assistant Editor of the newspaper Diari de Tarragona and master of ceremonies. 

Social and Environmental Commitment 

The Tarragona Chamber of Commerce took the opportunity to highlight Sorigué’s focus on the circular economy and responsibility across the board: at a social, environmental and governance level. This commitment is demonstrated by its sustainability reports and the initiatives its foundation has been supporting for over 30 years. 

One of Sorigué’s milestones that it emphasised was the group’s drive to improve its products and services in terms of sustainability: PV pavement, researching biodegradable packaging and graphene membrane water treatment, and many more. 

It also highlighted the group’s growing staff, which now includes over 5,000 employees, proof that growing and developing is possible while remaining committed and responsible. 

Some winners from other categories included Promociones José Luis, winner of the Business Excellence Award; H&T Presspart, winner of the Digitalisation and Innovation Award; Elektro 3, winner of the Internationalisation Award; and Tecnovelero, winner of the Startup Award.
