Three Sorigué companies participate in the renovation of a stretch of Avenida Meridiana in Barcelona
Three Group companies have been responsible for overhauling the stretch of this avenue between Calle Independencia and Calle Aragón, which has included the remodeling of the central walkway, the expansion of the service network, adapting the new green areas and repaving the street, in addition to other aspects.
Constraula, Ambitec and Firtec, all Sorigué Group companies, have worked together on the renovation of the stretch between Avenida Meridiana between Calle Independencia and Calle Aragón in the district of Sant Martí in Barcelona. Constraula, a company specializing in urban services, which was awarded the project, contracted the services of Ambitec and Firtec to create the new green areas and resurface the road in this section, respectively.
The goal of the renovation of this urban area is to reorganize the space on Avenida Meridiana, reducing the space dedicated to vehicle traffic, expanding and improving the central walkway, creating rest areas for pedestrians, and adapting various landscaped areas.
For nine months, Constraula was responsible for extending the sidewalks and remodeling the entire walkway, which included: the installation of a new sanitation collection network for rainwater in the central part of the avenue, and the installation of a new LED lighting area to improve street lighting.
In addition, the project included the installation of a new irrigation network, new street furniture and a new traffic light network adapted to the new space. The area has been paved with prefabricated concrete paving stones and granitic stone pieces for normal curbs and dropped curbs.
In turn, the company specializing in landscaping and gardening, Ambitec, was responsible for the new green areas. The service has included adapting the land and the planting of the trees and shrub plants, the construction of lawn surfaces and installing irrigation.
Finally, the Group's asphalt company, Firtec, organized and performed the milling and paving work for the new roads using hot bituminous mixtures. The asphalt was laid over four days and five different mixtures were manufactured for this task, with the use of red Fircolor worth particular mention.
