On 18, 19 and 20 April, Sorigué’s infrastructures and materials department took part in the 2nd National Symposium on Road Surfaces organised by the Technical Road Association (Asociación Técnica de Carreteras; ATC) in Valencia under the slogan “The response of surfaces to the New Approach: sustainability and efficiency.” 
 
“This congress is the main meeting and discussion point for the sector, which seeks more sustainable and resilient solutions for the management, maintenance and renovation of the surfaces that serve our society. That is why Sorigué’s participation stands out, as it reaffirms our commitment to the research and development of new solutions, as well as our capacity for leadership”, explained Jordi Albareda, Director of Infrastructure and Material Contracting. 

Mar Subarroca, Head of the Research Laboratory, gave a presentation on Sorigué’s experience in surfacing techniques in Spain and the regulatory framework that they are part of. 

In addition, the business group presented two of its asphalt innovation projects. Firstly, it gathered the knowledge generated in the works of the Generalitat de Catalunya Sustainable Road Surface Plan to make a technical and environmental comparison of the sustainable techniques applied with respect to conventional ones. 
 
Secondly, it discussed the activities developed in the Smartlink innovation project, carried out together with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and CDTI funding, for the development of tools for the design and characterisation of emulsion adhesives in the application of ultra-thin layers.
