Ana Vallés, the chief executive officer of Sorigué, was recognized as “Leader of the year” at the Movers and Shakers award ceremony organized by the Barcelona International Business Club, a private business club in the city of Barcelona. 

The recognition was awarded on 17 March, during the first gala event held to award these prizes, whose purpose is to recognize and reward excellence, best practices, personal achievement, and company innovation among companies in the Catalan community

Also recognized together with Ana Vallés as leader of the year was José Manuel Rigueiro López, general director of Actelion Pharmaceuticals Spain. 

Recognized in the “International expansion” category were Marcos Carrasquilla Dorow, CEO of Figueras International Seating, and Eduard López Perea, General Managing Director of Laboratorios Inibsa. In addition, the “Innovation” prize was awarded to José Mariano López-Urdiales, CEO and founder of Zero 2 Infinity, and Carlos Buesa, CEO of Oryzon Genomics.

The Movers and Shakers prizes

The organization stated that these prizes have been awarded to recognize personal ability, leadership skill and an entrepreneurial mind-set in all industry sectors, including businesses of all sizes and eras.
   
The Barcelona International Business Club is a private business club in Barcelona, aimed at executives who participate upper-level company decision-making processes. The awarding of the Movers and Shakers prizes by the Barcelona International Business Club took place as part of the annual meeting of club members.
