Ana Vallés reaffirms Sorigué’s commitment to sustainability at the 24th National Congress for Family Companies (Congreso Nacional de la Empresa Familiar)
The president of Sorigué participated in the round table “More than numbers: Business purpose” to debate the idea of purpose together with other leading companies in the country due to their commitment to giving back.
On 25 October, Ana Vallés, president of the Sorigué group, participated in the 24th National Congress for Family Companies organised in Pamplona by the Family Business Institute (IEF), which brought together representatives from the most important family companies in Spain. Over 500 business owners attended the event under the slogan “We are working for a better society”.
The president of Sorigué reaffirmed the company’s commitment to environmental, financial and social sustainability at the first round table during the “More than numbers: Business purpose” congress chaired by Jordi Canals, president of the IESE Center for Corporate Governance. She spoke alongside the president of Sener, Andrés Sendagorta, and the founder of La Fageda, Cristóbal Colón.
The round table debated the concept of purpose in companies that combine business activity with a commitment to giving back, as Sorigué does through its PLANTA project: "an exceptional project combining
engineering and architectural solutions with a passion for art and culture", in the words of Jordi Canals.
During her speech, Vallés explained the origin of the PLANTA project: "It is an innovative and unique project that was created during the first generational changeover at Sorigué to bring the group together under a shared aim by creating a link between the business group, the Sorigué Foundation and the place where the company began its activities. The project has developed to become the group’s flagship project”.
The new edition of the National Congress for Family Companies, inaugurated by King Felipe VI, focused on the work done by family companies to encourage a better society through sustainable management. The opening ceremony of the Congress was also attended by the President of the Autonomous Community of Navarre, María Chivite; the Minister of Industry, Reyes Maroto; and the President of the Family Business Institute (IEF), Marc Puig.
