Sorigué renovates its Firtec facilities in Barberá del Vallés

Renovating and expanding common areas for occupational health has been the main focus behind remodelling the Firtec building, a company part of the Materials division, where a wide of variety of asphalt mixes are produced and managed for the province of Barcelona.
The asphalt specialist Firtec, a company part of Sorigué Materials division, has significantly renovated and expanded its facilities in Barberá del Vallés, Barcelona, to deliver on the company’s environmental commitment and adapt to new safety protocols.
The new facilities will also house Firtec’s Technical and Management Department, which services Sorigué’s asphalt subsidiary in the province of Barcelona.
Occupational health and environmental performance
The main focus of the works has been to renovate, expand and redesign the common areas at the old offices for occupational health and team safety.
Furthermore, environmental performance standards were followed when choosing the best design solution. In this sense, a prefabricated, efficient and movable structure was chosen, allowing it to be moved to a new location if necessary.
The new facilities will also house Firtec’s Technical and Management Department, which services Sorigué’s asphalt subsidiary in the province of Barcelona.

Technical information for the works
The structure is made up of four modules, a steel cantilever, panel walls and energy-efficient aluminium windows and doors, with a total area for the two-story building of 92.16 m2.
The upper floor has an open layout and room for up to six workstations. The lower floor is made up of three areas: a break room, a weighing office with a workstation and a material storage area with a workstation.
The building environment has also undergone improvements, with nine new parking spaces and two bike racks to encourage the team to use sustainable transport. In addition, rest benches for staff have been installed, offering places to gather outdoors that meet COVID-19 prevention protocols.
Thanks to this renovation, the building, located inside asphalt production facilities, has been efficiently integrated into its environment.
