Sorigué hosts opening Talent Tour 2024 event
At the gathering, the Sorigué Foundation unveiled its current exhibition “Life in Emergency. Juan Zamora”, guided by the artist himself and Ana Vallés, Sorigué’s chair.
On Tuesday 23 January, the Sorigué Foundation hosted the opening event of the Talent Tour 2024 which is run every year by the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGi) to showcase young talent. This year it kicked off in Lleida from 22-26 January.
The Sorigué Foundation opened its exhibition venue to the board of trustees and the young talent awarded by the Princess of Girona Foundation at an event led by Queen Letizia, representing the Royal Household, together with Diana Morant, Minister of Science and Innovation; Carlos Prieto, the Spanish Government Representative in Catalonia; Félix Larrosa, Mayor of Lleida; Francisco Belil, Chair of the FPdGi; and Salvador Tasqué, Director General of the FPdGi.
Visiting Juan Zamora’s exhibition
At the gathering, the Sorigué Foundation unveiled its current exhibition “Life in Emergency. Juan Zamora”, guided by the artist himself and Ana Vallés, chair of Sorigué and the Sorigué Foundation.
The exhibition, which can be seen until 22 March, is the first major presentation of Zamora’s work. The project stems from the Sorigué Foundation’s commitment to young talent and its close ties with artists featured in its collection such as Zamora, who joined the collection in 2008 and won the Princess of Girona Foundation Arts and Literature Award in 2017.
Social projects
During the visit, the Foundation also displayed four of the most outstanding local social projects in which it has been involved: the educational programme “Education and Equal Opportunities”, which aims to promote the social and labour market inclusion of students with intellectual disabilities; the creative workshop “Art, Emotion, Inclusion”, designed to enhance self-knowledge and emotions and addressed to vulnerable people; the workshop “Training and Inclusion” to promote collective work and round off the training of young people in detention, and “The Value of Food” aimed at people who are experiencing food insecurity.
In lockstep, during the Talent Tour the Sorigué Foundation also laid on free guided tours of “Life in Emergency. Juan Zamora”. The visits were led by the artist himself who outlined to the audience his thoughts on the fragility of ecosystems on an introspective journey through a large part of his output.
Sorigué has also been at two other Talent Tour events. Firstly, the group took part in the #JOVULLSER job fair to connect young talent and companies.
Likewise, Miriam Porres, Sorigué’s CSR director, spoke at the APD Congress. In her talk “The planet in danger. Last call for sustainability”, she shared with the new generations of professionals her insight into the sustainability challenges faced by businesses together with senior executives from Renfe, Lacoste and bonÀrea.
