Sorigué digitalises the management of Barcelona’s water network servicing
November 23, 2021
The Water Network Management (GRA) app, developed by the Sorigué group, can track project progress in real time and gather data.
Barcelona’s drinking water system, managed by Sorigué under a service agreement with Aigües de Barcelona, has added a new app to enhance services using digitalisation.
The Water Network Management (GRA) app responds to the need to adapt to a complex and changing environment. The system can track project progress in real time and gather data, making it easy to make decisions, fully manage resources and logistics, and speed up administrative processes.
This tool also offers a secure internal communication channel for easy vertical and horizontal knowledge sharing between teams, and helps us maintain a constant and fluid interaction with the client.
In-house development
The GRA app was developed in-house by Sorigué as part of a joint project between the Acsa team leading the agreement and the Systems Department. This solution answers the need for an up-to-date tool providing an overview of operations and service analytics.

In addition to the purely business features, the app ensures access from any computer or mobile device, and its main features can be used offline.
The new work system tries to encourage users to be proactive and share their experiences to continuously improve the app.
Training project teams
Project teams underwent three training sessions to learn about the new app. Having the GRA up and running means all project teams will no longer use paper and now use tablets.
The training took place in June in one-day sessions and covered conceptual and operational aspects. The 100 operators that underwent training learnt to use the new system on both scheduled and unscheduled projects.
Cooperation between all the teams is key to bring about the changes needed to implement and consolidate new management models. Thanks to this app, we improve the overview of our operations and strengthen service analytics, generating knowledge and value.
