Improved lighting in the C-17 tunnel in Mollet del Vallès
Renovation and improved energy efficiency in the lighting installations in the C-17 tunnel in Mollet del Vallès, within the Preservation of Barcelona East.
Sorigue Acsa Conservación de Infraestructuras, S.A. has completed work to adapt the new lighting installations in the Mollet tunnel located between PK 10+826 and PK 11+050 on the C-17 highway in the municipality of Mollet del Vallés.
This renovation is included under the Plan to Improve the Energy Efficiency of the Roadway Lighting Installations of the Departament de Territori i Sostenibilitat de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
Works have focused on the upgrading of electrical wiring and conduits and replacement of all lighting inside the tunnel, in order to guarantee optimal quality in electrical service.
The old project, from 1990, used high pressure sodium lights, which have been replaced with 394 LED projectors.
Thus, these works have fully improved roadway safety, improving light and electrical quality, and reducing electricity consumption, resulting in more sustainable infrastructure.
