Sorigué continues to grow in the renewable energy industry after acquiring the Portuguese firm Sunenergy
Integrating Sunenergy strengthens Sorigué’s renewable energy operations, concentrating its strategy on three businesses: solar farms, self-consumption and distributed generation, and building and facility energy efficiency.
Plus, this enables the group to broaden its service portfolio and its focus on sustainable mobility as Sunenergy recently began selling EV charging stations.
Sorigué’s goal is to make the most of the synergies between Ecotelia and Sunenergy to drive energy business across the Iberian Peninsula. This will see the group break into the Portuguese market for the first time with one of its business lines.
About Sunenergy
With over 100 employees, Sunenergy has been offering a wide variety of solar energy services for 12 years: home and industrial self-consumption systems, climate control and DHW, along with building energy efficiency. It currently has over 80,000 solar panels installed across Portugal for a total of 25 MW.
In addition to installing PV systems, Sunenergy installs and operates a wide variety of EV charging stations, focusing on rapid and ultra-rapid stations, a business with huge potential for growth.
This will see Sorigué step up its focus on sustainable mobility, which had so far taken the form of an EV fleet mostly for city maintenance services and green infrastructure.
Sorigué in the Energy Industry
Sorigué specialises in delivering renewable energy generation projects, covering both with connection to the grid through solar farms and through self-consumption and distributed generation systems. In addition, it has extensive experience boosting the energy efficiency of buildings and industrial facilities through value engineering, refurbishment and maintenance.
After acquiring a majority holding in Ecotelia in 2021, the company integrated its energy services in the new Energy Division, driven by its goal to develop business models as an energy service company (ESCO). This way, it added value to its operations and expanded its offer with a comprehensive service: from energy audits and assessment of efficiency measures, to examining financing solutions for energy efficient refurbishment.
