Washed sand is an aggregate obtained from natural aggregates at the La Plana del Corb gravel pit, first using an initial vibratory screening and then washing with cyclones to sort the particles by density and size. Thus the initial aggregate is cleaned of the smallest and heaviest fractions.
In the production process, washing produces a no-fine course grain size, making it ideal for manufacturing mortar and concrete.
It is used as corrective sand in concrete, compensating for other limestone sands for more fines. It is also used to manufacture precast products, where it provides excellent finishes.
